4 years later, celebrating Celebration Day

  • 10:20 pm Sunday, October 9th, 2016 by Brando

4 years ago  I somehow had a ticket for the Led Zeppelin press conference at The Museum of Modern Art in NYC. The legendary band was promoting their O2 reunion DVD release. Yes I had a ticket, but I still felt like I didn’t belong. Not only was I moments away from seeing arguably the greatest rock band of all time in the flesh, I was also the youngest radio “professional” in the room. At any moment I thought security was going to ask if I looking my mom…

After a private screening of the reunion DVD, the press were escorted [More]

Crazy Love Train

The recent martial troubles between  Ozzy Osbourne and wife Sharon have been well documented. However, the heavy metal power couple seem to have repaired their marriage that began in the summer of 1982. The most recent “proof” came via Sharon’s TV show, The Talk…

She seems genuinely surprised…right? There’s no way this was completely staged and Ozzy did this on his own without Sharon knowing…right???

Either way, it’s nice to see them patch things up…even if it’s for show.

Happy National Comic Book Day!

  • 12:19 am Sunday, September 25th, 2016 by Brando

Fellow nerds rejoice! September 25th is National Comic Book Day!! I collected so many as a kid; X-Men, Spider-Man, Spawn, Batman…you name it. Not just for the stories, but the amazing artwork.

Personally I still enjoy my comics more than the new wave of comic movies. There’s more left to the imagination with an actual comic rather than a director’s view of it. But then again, I’m a nerd.

So, what’s your favorite comic of all-time?

Axl/DC rules. Accept it.

Bon Scott died 3 years before I was born at the same age I am now, 33. And unfortunately I never got around to see Brian Johnson perform in person. Both being said, I love AC/DC. No matter what age you are, you grew up on their music. They are iconic. Whether it’s Bon or Brian, their music is a staple of rock radio, sporting events, bars…you name it. If you don’t love AC/DC, get out.

The same can be said for Guns N’ Roses. This summer saw the long awaited reunion between Axl Rose and Slash. Currently their US tour [More]

Metallica Frightens Children

  • 10:27 pm Thursday, September 8th, 2016 by Brando

The future of rock (and our children) has never been more in doubt. I’m not sure whether to be sad or angry. Or both. I’m “sangry.”

Metallica recently released their new single and video for “Hardwired” from their upcoming album “Hardwired…to Self-Destruct,” album out November 18th…

I dig it. It’s received mostly favorable reviews from even the most hardcore Metallica fans. However that is not the point. Whether you like the song or not, you KNOW who Metallica IS. They’re one of the most successful not in just heavy metal, but BANDS OF ALL-TIME. I understand age can play a factor in [More]

Building a Case for Axl/DC

  • 7:26 pm Tuesday, August 30th, 2016 by Brando

When it was rumored that Axl Rose would join AC/DC after Brian Johnson could no longer perform live, I laughed it off. At that time the Guns N’ Roses reunion tour was still something we weren’t sure would last. So how could an unpredictable Axl handle doing that AND taking over duties for another all-time great band? But then Angus Young came out during GNR’s performance at Coachella….

Not sure about you, but that was outstanding. Axl has covered AC/DC before in concert, so we knew he COULD do it, but SHOULD he? Angus, Cliff, and Axl cleared things up…

With “Axl/DC” officially [More]
